The pujaris (priests) @ Pashupatinath are fighting it out. The Indian priests have resigned and the Bhandaris (Newars) are worried that things won't be the same with Nepali Bhramins in the driver seat. They didn't have any problems with the Indian Bhramins! The holy place was tense yesterday, with riot police, YCL, local folks, the old pujaris , the new ones... and few stray dogs!
According to Kukhurcahor Guptachar Bivag (KGB), if all the donations collected from Pashupatinath Temple were made transparent then Nepal wouldn't need any foreign aid at all. That's a lot of money and nobody knows where it goes.
Well, the Indian priests have five-star hotels and other investments in India. Our Royal family had their share until the 90s and then things got all blurry. Yes, someone is stealing ... maybe its the evil spirits.
Talking about evil spirits, a holy man was busy ringing bells and chanting mantras to ward off evil spirits @ 1 in the morning. And a night watchman for Mero Mobile was busy burning a fire (to keep himself warm) and a water tanker driver suddenly decided to dump excess water in the middle of the street. Maybe, he wanted to douse the fire.
I don't know about the valley but my neighborhood is a place where no one really sleeps. Even at 1 in the morning, somebody is busy doing something. Then a taxi driver and his fellow passengers got into a fight! It was about the fare.
There was punching, kicking, spitting , bitch-slapping and what not and I had to get out of bed to break off the fight. Looks like one of our Nepalese brother will represent our nation in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) soon!
But when it comes to journalists or reporters or folks with mic... we are a peaceful bunch compared to these Amrikans. Take a look at this video, this reporter had a tough time talking about New Year's stuff in Nevada!
