A friend of mine called me this morning and he was like 'Dude, tyo voter registration card ko deadline aajuh ho rey'... feri arko choo-naab (khoi kahiley hoonay ho?) ma vote haalnuh na-pau-la bhaneruh... hatta-ree-dai Wada office tira lum-kee-ay!
In the Ward office, there was this guy with his laptop/webcam sebcam stuff and finger-print machine natak. Bihanuh ko 10 bajey nai bhid-bhaad... I asked the local WARD ko secretary about the deadline. Then a lady appeared from nowhere (tunnuh fair and lovely cream law-ga-ye-chin!) and started asking me personal questions.
Where do you live? Why weren't you home when we came to register? How long have you been a resident of this tole and what not?
Then I asked her gently, "Kinuh ruh, muh sanga bihaa garna laageko ho ki kya ho tapai?" and then the whole room burst into laughter... hehehe, Desi channel ma Comedy Circus hay-ray ko kaam laagdo rahecha bela bhakat maa!
Instead of going door-to-door, the government would have been more effective if they just dropped a simple letter asking us to come to local Ward office or wherever the designated place is ... and to bring along your original citizenship card as well!
The lady told me to go to a local government school and meet a 'Basu' Sir. So then, I walked another ten minutes to the local school. Basu sir was nowhere to be found. After looking around, and searching all them chiya-pasals... I managed to find him at a local bhaat-khaaney thau!
Bichara Sir tuh, Bhaat nikkai dun-kai raheko rahecha. So, I waited for him to finish his lunch. School start bhayeko 10 bajey bihanuh, Sir chahi ajahi lunch ma rahecha!
I sat down with him and he filled up them information in them form according to my citizenship papers. And he gave me a 'chit' (Nepal ma 'Chit' bhanda-rahechan!) and asked me to show up at the local Ward Office on Thursday. I asked him to change the date but he refused but then informed me that I can show up anytime until the end of this Nepali month rey!
The Madeshi parties are crying because of this new 'Election Card' natak. Why? Because during them election tyam, 1,000 buses full of Indians cross the border to vote because they have their names on them voter lists haroo kyaruh!
Abuh fasaad parey-nuh, citizenship papers nai cha-hee-nay bhaye-pachi tuh. Hope Upendra Yadav and all them Madesh-based parties find new tricks to win more votes next tyam!
According to the local guff-gaff @ the local Ward Office, this 'election card/national voter registration card' natak was planned ten years ago rey. This is Nepal... "all you need is just a little patience" (Axl Rose lay pani yestai bhan-thyo kyaruh!).
So don't laugh when our leaders promise us 40,000 MW in the next ten years. What they meant was .... 'jay bhaye pani arko 100 barsa ma kaso naw-hola ni'.... it's a good start and next ... they are planning on a National ID card thing!
